Fuser Wedge Removal |
Videos on how to remove the wedges from a printer that is stored. A spare printer that will sit for 30 days or longer should have wedges installed to prevent a flat spot on it's pressure roller. The wedges take the spring tension off the pressure roller and will need to be removed before installing the printer. |

If for some reason you need to put your printer back into storage for a period longer than 30 days the two wedges should be reinstalled under the spring loaded arm. Be sure to line up the groove in the wedge with the arm and insert all the way in. When inserted completely, the end of the wedge will be just about flush with the fuser frame. See photo below: |
